The First Annual Atlanta BBQ Festival - September 12, 2009

Bob Herndon, president of the Atlanta BBQ Club, has organized the first annual Atlanta BBQ Festival to be held at  Turner Field on September 12, 2009.  The festival will include a professional BBQ cookoff, a open, backyard BBQ cookoff, live music, and BBQ vendors (including Five Star BBQ).  For the BBQgeek, the ATL BBQ festival is a great step forward in establishing Atlanta as a viable stop on the competition circuit.  In the past, the best you could hope for in Atlanta was a chili cookoff to be held at Stone Mountain or on a military airstrip.  We in Atlanta are definitely moving in the right direction with this event.  I strongly urge you to come out and support Bob's efforts to put Atlanta on the map.
